Statement from the World Public Health Nutrition Association and Public Health Association of Australia

Due to the evolving COVID-19 situation the World Public Health Nutrition Association (WPHNA) and the Public Health Association of Australia (PHAA) have made the difficult decision to not proceed with the World Public Health Nutrition (WPHN) Congress 2020 as originally planned in Brisbane, Australia, from Tuesday 31 March to Thursday 3 April 2020.

The WPHN Congress content will be converted to a virtual event for registered delegates.

WORLD PUBLIC HEALTH NUTRITION CONGRESS 2020

Knowledge, Policy, Action in the Decade of Nutrition 2016-2025

What is working or not? Where are the gaps? What needs more effort or change?

About the Congress

Held every 4 years, the World Public Health Nutrition Congress was established by the World Public Health Nutrition Association (WPHNA) to bring together the international public health nutrition sector for an international congress free from funding from conflicted sources. The Congress acts as a pathway to strengthen the knowledge base, partnerships and commitment for effective action to improve nutrition related health, particularly among vulnerable populations in the world.

What is working or not? Where are the gaps? What needs more effort or change?

Today, nearly one in three persons globally suffers from at least one form of malnutrition – under-nutrition, micronutrient deficiency, overweight or obesity – and a large part of the world’s population is affected by diet-related non-communicable diseases (NCDs).
